What is ElectriFly?

Electric planes offer a promising alternative to traditional gas-powered aircraft. However, e-planes bring on new challenges including limited battery capacity and scarce knowledge of their performance in Canadian weather.


Our team is using data from the Pipistrel Velis Electro, the world’s first type certified electric plane. Our platform enables researchers to analyze flight data and create a battery management strategy for the optimal operation of the electric plane. Leveraging machine learning, ElectriFly optimizes flight schedules based on weather forecasts and improves flight planning by predicting battery consumption.

Flight Exercise Planning


Welcome to ElectriFly's Flight Exercise Planning Interface!

Prepare your flight exercises with precision by customizing key attributes. Our innovative tool leverages a machine learning prediction engine to estimate battery level (SOC) throughout each exercise, as well as the total battery consumption by the end of your flight. Empower yourself with this data to make well-informed decisions for your flight planning.

The tool enables pilots to choose two input methods. Changing the method is controlled by the switch under the 'Flight Activity Selection' section to the left. Additionally, the date and time enable the tool to query forecasted weather data.

  1. Method 1: Range attribute selection. Through the specified range, a random value is chosen as the prediction value for the prediction engine
  2. Method 2: Single attribute selection. For each attribute, a value is input. Which will be used as the prediction value for the prediction engine
